What is Data Security Training?

The online Data Security Training is a module-based course that focuses on cybersecurity awareness topics critical to the university, including phishing, physical security and safe AI use. The training helps our campus community better understand how to protect our devices and data.

Who is Required to Take the Training?

• Current Employees: All employees, including student employees, are required to take the training annually. The deadline is announced each fall.
• New Employees: New employees will have 30 days from their hire date to complete the training as part of their onboarding requirements.
• First-year Undergraduate Students: Starting in fall 2026, all first-year undergraduate students are required to take the training.

To receive a Certificate of Completion, employees and students must watch the entire module and answer all assessment questions.

Supervisor Responsibilities
