Cybersecurity Awareness

In addition to requiring annual Data Security Training, NC State hosts annual events to raise cybersecurity awareness across campus.

Data Privacy Day:  January 28th is Data Privacy Day, which is recognized worldwide as an annual international effort to empower individuals and businesses to respect privacy, safeguard data, and facilitate trust.

See the Data Privacy Day web page for the January 2025 announcement. Hint: This year’s event will take place on January 30, 2025 — as an informal Q&A table in the breezeway of EB2 on Centennial Campus.

Cybersecurity Awareness Month:  NC State University observes Cybersecurity Awareness Month (CSAM) every year in October as part of the National Cybersecurity Awareness Month campaign — started by the National Cyber Security Division within the Department of Homeland Security and the nonprofit National Cyber Security Alliance.
