Policy and Compliance

To protect university assets, the university’s Security and Compliance (S&C) team develops and publishes Policies, Regulations, and Rules (PRRs).

S&C team assures compliance by conducting assessments, participating on several committees, and serving in several capacities.

Of particular importance are peer-to-peer file sharing and copyright infringement: Illegal file-sharing of copyrighted material via Peer-to-Peer (P2P) applications or other means is a serious offense and can lead to university disciplinary actions as well as criminal and civil penalties.

Cybersecurity Baseline and Identity and Authentication Rule

OIT and campus stakeholders have developed two new rules. These forthcoming rules set campuswide baseline controls as well as identity and authentication requirements that must be met to protect university data and IT resources.
